The Nursery Class at St. Mary\u2019s School provides for children during the year before their entry into the main school.<\/h2>\n

The Nursery is open from 9 am until 11.00 am every weekday morning.<\/p>\n

The class is situated in the main body of the school. It is staffed by a qualified teacher and teaching assistants, with a ratio of one adult to eight children.<\/p>\n

Nursery children wear full school uniform.<\/p>\n

The Nursery Class aims to provide a friendly, happy and secure environment in which the young children can develop their language and social skills as well as experience a range of exciting and pupil-led activities. The children receive help with pre-reading and pre-number skills, in preparation for their entry into the Reception Class.<\/p>\n

We introduce children to the schools ‘Learning powers’ on a gradual basis to develop a positive growth mindset.<\/p>\n

Parents are most welcome to bring their child to see the Nursery Class in action before their first day.<\/p>\n
